Let’s Dive Right In! Here are the Most Common Questions I Get Asked as a Wedding Celebrant in Lanzarote
Can We Legally Get Married in Lanzarote?
If you’re a resident of Spain, the answer is yes, you can legally marry in Lanzarote. However, if you're not a resident, you won’t be able to marry legally here. But don’t worry! You can still have a beautiful Wedding Blessing ceremony. (The legal part would be completed quietly and without fuss back at home.)
The main difference with a blessing lies in the absence of a few legal terms during the ceremony. The beauty of this option is that you have the freedom to personalise your ceremony, tailoring the words to reflect your unique love story and style. So while it may not be a legally binding wedding, it can still be a truly memorable and meaningful experience.

Should We Handle the Legal Paperwork Before or After Our Lanzarote Wedding Blessing?
It can be either, but my advice?
Complete the legal paperwork before your Lanzarote Wedding Blessing. By doing so, it ensures that the ceremony can be personalised without any restrictions due to legal requirements. Additionally, based on my experience, taking care of the legalities beforehand helps you truly feel "married" right after your Wedding Blessing. You won’t be left thinking,
“Oh, now we still have to take care of the legal part.”
Instead, you can fully immerse yourself in the joy and magic of your celebration without any lingering thoughts about the paperwork.
Can We Have a Commitment Ceremony Instead?
Absolutely! If a Commitment Ceremony aligns more with your values and beliefs, we can work together to craft a meaningful and personalised script that beautifully symbolises the next step in your journey together. It’s all about creating a ceremony that feels right for you both, ensuring it reflects your unique bond and love.

Can We Have Our Lanzarote Wedding Blessing on the Beach?
If you're dreaming of a beach wedding blessing in Lanzarote, you're in luck!
Some hotels on the island offer private beach locations where you can hold your ceremony. These exclusive venues allow you to exchange vows by the sea with stunning views.
However, it’s important to note that you can’t simply set up an arch, chairs, and decorations on any public beach without proper permissions.
For the smaller groups (ideally less than 10 people) we can find a quiet spot on a beach at sunset for a simple yet stunning standing ceremony.
For larger groups, there are many beachside venues that are available.
Then, after the ceremony you can pop down to the seas edge for those breathtaking beach photos, all while your guests are enjoying the canapes and cocktails.
If a beach wedding ceremony is truly what you're envisioning for you and your guests, it is possible to make it happen. Securing permission from the local council is essential, and with the expertise of Lindsey Stonier Signature Weddings and Events, in collaboration with DO Events, they can assist in navigating the process and obtaining the necessary approvals on your behalf.

How Long Does a Wedding Blessing Ceremony Last in Lanzarote?
A typical Wedding Blessing Ceremony in Lanzarote usually lasts around 30 minutes. This is the perfect duration to create a meaningful, memorable experience without losing the attention of your guests or getting too hot in our notoriously warm climate.
A ceremony that stretches beyond an hour can sometimes lose its impact, while one that's too brief may not feel as significant. Striking the right balance ensures a beautiful ceremony that everyone will enjoy and remember!
How Much Does a Wedding in Lanzarote Cost?
This is a question I get asked often, but the answer isn't a simple one, it really depends on a variety of factors!
How many guests are you inviting?
What type of venue are you imagining for your big day?
Are you including photography, videography, flowers, a wedding cake, a hairstylist, makeup artist, live entertainment, or even fireworks?
All of these elements can affect the overall cost, and many are optional, so it really comes down to your vision.
If you're looking for something more intimate, such as a simple elopement, the cost can be significantly different compared to a larger, more elaborate celebration.
The best way to get a clearer idea of the price is to jump on a quick, no-obligation call with me. I’m happy to help you navigate through all the options and give you the information you need to make an informed decision. Don’t forget to bring your pen and paper, there’s lots to discuss!
Can We Include Religious Content in a Celebrant-Led Wedding? Can We Incorporate Two Types of Religion?
Absolutely! One of the wonderful aspects of having a Celebrant-led wedding in Lanzarote is the freedom to personalise your ceremony. There are no restrictions when it comes to the content of your service, so you can absolutely include religious elements that are meaningful to you.
As a Celebrant, I can honour and celebrate all traditions, cultures, and beliefs. Whether you'd like to incorporate one religion or blend elements from two different ones, I can craft a ceremony that perfectly reflects your unique journey.
As a creative writer, I love diving into research and embracing every opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills. This allows me to create a ceremony that truly resonates with you, incorporating any religious or cultural aspects that are important to your love story.
